long time no post! it's been a month already! i think annaly's on the bus back home right now...and xiao's home already? i think? well i'm still here. andrew's getting here tomorrow around dinner time! so i've been cooking for a couple hours today. i baked a pumpkin pie. made sweet potato casserole (w/o the marshmellows and oven action YET) and mashed potatos! i'll be making wings, bulgogi, and stuffings tomorrow! love how i include one random korean dish in it! i also bought sparking wine! i'm super excited!

so annaly! i love the designer you told me about! her dresses are so gorgeous! or...a lot of her older ones were really nice. i found three dresses that i liked! and i liked the first one a lot! then i liked the puffiness from the second/third ones.

omg i just wanna be a wedding dress model/designer. that would be so cool. so far, i just know that im not a huge vera wang fan. i like monique lueiller(don't know spelling) and oscar's line from kenneth pool. im becoming an annaly!

so i'm thinking, when u guys get married, can i go to the bridal stores with you guys to look at dresses? ill tell u what i think about your dresses!

- i walked around and wondered....man i really wish i was getting married
- told people i was getting married. fall 2009. had the venue chosen in Rhode Island (overlooking water of course and yes, an estate with lots of trees and fun stuff to play with)
- to whom? it varied. sometimes max (a guy i stare at @ work), jeff craig (my friend who came along made him up), and nicky because it was punishment for him...because he bailed on me due to work
- ate cake, drank alkie, talked it up with vendors

so i was watching project runway, the episode when they had all the wedding gowns, then it made me want to pull an annaly. i started looking up wedding gowns -_- then i found a cute website that youmight like!

dum dee dum. i am waiting to hear back about my fate and whether or not i get onto this project or not. sigh. i think i'll be a sitting duck till monday. anyways i am in a good/okay mood. i guess this is an update on our lives post type thing? im guessing from jays majorly large post hahaha.

anyways, xiao is visiting fairly soon and i am SUPER excited. we will have stories after this trip i assure you all. what else is going on? jenn suh is coming back to nj and will be visiting oct 31. today i am eating indian food and that makes me super excited. im surrounded by indian people it seems. recruiting went well at cmu!!!! we got these two people i really really absolutely gungho loved. and im super hoping that they accept the offers.

what else is going on? my apartment is pretty much done. just need to bring back some equipment and a couch which i have no clue how it will get here. our tv doesn't work x( because of the whole digital switch. we got a converter box but its not working for some reason and that makes me ultra frustrated because im used to watching tv when i get back home. and jacky knows that. so shes like you dont haveeee to watch tv. and im like EEEEEEEEeeeeeee yes i do. you guys remember college senior year. my tv was on 24/7 even when i wasn't even there it was on.

I FEEL NEKKED WITHOUT TV!!!!!! which is bad. cuz i probably waste a lot of electricity leaving it on. anyways.....nothing much has been going on. im still in that mode where i need to get settled and start to join all these things in ny. im volunteering for the chinese children adoption thing again and so hopefully that will be fun. theres also www.projecthdesign.com which seems super awesome and eyebeam which is a studio/lab here in the city. i am going to try to volunteer for event planning at the botanical gardens . i.e.....weddings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so jay and i have been talking about starting businesses. i was thinking of milk and cookies truck and suddenly i see a website online www.milkandcookiesbakery.com i think? we can so do a better job. anyways start coming up with ideas!!!!!!! i'll try to bake every weekend and do testing and see what i can come up with hahaha. i'll post on my sewing/decorating blog. anyways im taking cooking classes with nicky and sewing classes (not with him) and we'll see how they go. i'll send stuff to you guys like ...a sock. or half a scarf. hahahaahah

ahhhhh! in detroit!

so i'm here! in detroit! and for some reason, jaxulence keeps logging me out and changes my login email.

so i found a place! its a fully furnished apt. and i bought a car! its a volvo c30 black on black.

WAHA! yes. i love black -0-; shouldn't get that hot here... i hope. and i had to make the down payment myself. so i'm broke now. uhh... never felt so poor/out of money. i'll be a homeless bum with a nice car. i'm having trouble financing my down payment though. cuz half my money's in pnc. uhh.. i'll figure that out later? did you guys know volvos are only made in sweden? then the swedish government is trying to make some changes in their car export policies. so i'm waiting until friday to make the actual payment. cuz the dealer told me the price MIGHT go down. i doubt it though. my employee discount was horrible. not so much on small cars -_-; but i dont need a pickup truck or an SUV. so...yeah. i basically got no discount.

and my apartment's actually pretty nice. its fully furnished with OK furnitures. im probably gonna move out to a cheaper unfurnished apt by december? PLEASE visit me soon! i'm so lonely here -0-; i wish wingkit was here -0- even if i looked like some crazy stalker, i wouldnt mind calling him up and asking him to hang out with me -_-

so i might go down to pittsburgh next weekend. that'll be my first weekend after i start work? the gas prices went down! i saw 2.99 today. wow! on average it was like 3.09? soso xiao, weren't you saying something about that weekend? did u say u can't go? i couldn't really hear on the plane.

i'm staying at my great uncle's place until friday, so i'll call u guys after i move in! or you can call me :) oh! i talked to my boss yesterday, he sounded super nice! i think he's the one who asked me how i was doing in japanese during my interview. if he is, i'm gonna make him take japanese classes with me :P ahh! it's kinda scary to start work! how did you guys go through that phase!?

and i promise i'll write more on the jaxblog! we all should! WAHAHA! for lonely me!

anyways i shot a rifle yesterday at a shooting range. i had 10 magazines, 10 rounds each so 100 shots. it was nuts. but the guy teaching us was pretty cute. half korean half polish. mmmm. k i will try to step up my blog posting. as of now i have a deadline at 10. =(

I guess I'm having one of those "lets think about life" moments. I'm not sure why. I just randomly found myself thinking about life. Haha.

So, my friends here are mainly guys. For some reason, they decided to dub our little group "Autobots" ... yeah, Transformers. And I'm ... Bumblebee. Go figure.

I miss you all. We need to meet up. ASAP.

holding a record

so i am holding a record of most posts. jk.

anyways i am home and the other day i watched a feature about randy pausch. now i have been hearing a lot about him in the past week, even at church! which was pretty cool. i am ashamed that i have not read his book yet. i think i should.

anyways, it was amazing what some people did because they listened to his lecture on youtube. one man who is about 70-ish? who had a terminal illness and suffered from depression got up from watching the lecture and cleaned up his house. his house was EXTREMELY messy so that was a huge feat for him, especially because he was pretty elderly and moved slowly.

and ive been reading all these stories because i really have nothing to do about people coming out of ruts and doing all kinds of things. this 63 year old woman who I don't really know but someone I do knows her...got up and went to florida to think about retirement homes and she said "i don't want to go to sleep at 9pm every day and i don't want to eat at 5pm everyday". and so, she decided she never wanted to retire, went back to graduate school for a law degree and she is now using that jd degree to practice! and shes 6...6? now? yes 66.

i think im pretty proud of our group because we have been trying hard to live life. some harder than others. being in business at cmu is interesting because everyone seems that they have some set path that they really have to go down even if they don't particularly have a favoring for it. like finance for instance, etc. but i think we've taken big steps forward towards not going through that phase completely especially xiao i think because shes been doing all kinds of non-financey stuff and went to australia to eat koalas. and jay choosing to do something other than banking. and what use is it to have people think of you as that money grubby person especially when you're on your death bed thinking what impact have i made: "hmmm I wanted money all my life and got it. the end"

and it seems more difficult for those that are asians and grow up surrounded by people with similar talk and thought waves. my mom always wanted me to do something with lots of money but money is not the answer! although it does help pay for those classes that you do want to take. anyways, i think im going to go towards decisions that make me happy. spend my time enjoying life and not be depressed.

so i need to write down all the things I REALLY want to do. and i better do it. like that list to do before i die or childhood dreams type things.

list:
- work for pixar
- be a voice for a cartoon character
- know how to do several dances (ballroom, clogging, tap, etc)
- surf
- run a marathon..ONE DAYYYY!
- have twins (zee impossible) that wear european style clothing
- be able to use a sewing machine flawlessly
- plan parties/weddings that aren't my own
- work for martha stewart or domino magazine
- start a fund to help people
- be in charge of a huge event like the special olympics
- volunteer every weekend
- make beautiful cakes
- have a victorian style house that i completely design on my own with my hubby-balloo

JAYyyYYy! i did see it! hahahahah! i wanted to see it during opening weekend but i saw it monday. still al ot of people there though. i thought it was good but a little long. the fashion was fun fun fun! a lot of stuff about purses and wedding dresses and going through closets. you will go crazy when you see the closets in the movie.

oh and oddly enough...jennifer hudson plays her assistant--i did NOOOOT know that. but apparently she showed up on talkshows about it. pft. okay need to poop. brb

another post on a movie | sex and the city!

since annaly posted something about ratatouille, i decided to post pictures of sex and the city! its gonna be out in korea tomorrow. i never really loved-loved the show but i still watched it anyway because it's sex and the city. duh. kekeke. nah i skipped a whole bunch. i know i saw up til season 3 then i saw the last couple episodes where carrie goes to paris with the artist guy. hmm. i dont know. people love their fashion but i prefer looking at jessica alba's paparazzi shots! yoohoo! its a little too much for me :P anyway! i'm watching it tomorrow! did you guys see it already? haha i think mccormick and schmicks (don't know the spelling) had a sex and the city event brunch in pittsburgh.

amazing movie! loved every bit of it. except..t.he running of the rats...swarm of them creeped me out. i read that one of the animators who lent their voice for alfredo linguini character studied theater arts and then switched to animation ...wowee! i should go back to what i wanted to do since i was little...which was animation. but that stuff takes a lot of time at the computer...and im afraid of becoming pale and my eyes getting worst.

ive been pooping well since ive been home though...i.e. A LOT. its like every time i lie down im like op i have to get back up again. its frustrating...because sometimes i just want to sit for a long time but i can't. oh wells. hmmm what else. my mom made short ribs just a couple of hours ago. i had some cat fish too. i LOOOOVe cat fish...fried catfish is delicious. yummmmmmm

and me and my sister made mint strawberry limeade (will post pictures later)

bored in korea!

so i'm really bored. i'm not really looking into apartment stuff either. my mom said she's taking care of it. because it's the joy of her life. hahaha :D so i'm doing her a favor by moving. other than that, im jetlagged. i woke up at 6am. i took a nap from 5pm to 9pm yesterday. and missed dinner. hahaha. oh well. i miss afternoon tea. when do we wanna do it again? something like this!

hello everyone! jay! get a bunny and have it poop everywhere. puwahahah. anyways today is last day in south carolina =(

i fly out tonight at 6pm and get home around like 9ish. then on the 30th im flying back to pittsburgh to bum around with my sister and then im going to go back home to figure out how to decorate my apartment and what not. SC was so much fun! at myrtle beach though there was so many mi den because they had a motorcycle convention this weekend for memorial day weekend. ugh so mannyyyyyy. made me freak out.

im back home!

so i just arrived home. no like 12 hours ago. i woke up at 5:30AM! omg dunno what im gonna do tonight. ill probably watch tv and try not to fall asleep until midnight?

ah! so i found out my korean passport got cancelled automatically. so i can only stay in korea for 30 days with my us passport. my mom was gonna let me go to HK and andrew's gonna be there too. but i dont have a place to stay! he's staying at jackson's place. i dont wanna get a hotel by myself. boo!

so i ended up finding an apartment! it's right in downtown Royal Oak :P it's a quiet suburb. so im gonna be bored! ill probably stay home and play with my bunny IF i do get one.
